DESCRIPTION:Greetings All: I am pleased to pass along that we will be heari
 ng from Marc Draisen\, Executive Director of the Metropolitan Area Plannin
 g Council at our next meeting on October 13\, from noon – 1:15\, locatio
 n TBD.\n\nAs many of you know The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC
 ) is the regional planning agency serving the people who live and work in 
 the 101 cities and towns of Metropolitan Boston. MPAC’s mission is to pr
 omote smart growth and regional collaboration. MPAC strives for sound muni
 cipal management\, sustainable land use\, protection of natural resources\
 , efficient and affordable transportation\, a diverse housing stock\, publ
 ic safety\, economic development\, clean energy\, healthy communities\, an
  informed public\, and equity and opportunity among people of all backgrou
 nds.\n\nMarc Draisen has served as the Executive Director at MAPC since 20
 02. Prior to joining MAPC\, Mr. Draisen served as President and CEO of the
  Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations (MACDC). 
 He also served two terms as state representative from Boston and Brookline
  (11th Suffolk District)\, from 1991 to 1995. In 1994\, Mr. Draisen was th
 e Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts. Mr. Drais
 en graduated from Brandeis University with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1978\,
  and from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Master’s Degr
 ee in City Planning in 1981.\n\nWe look forward to hearing from him\, and
